Jack L. Johnston, 57, of Charleston, died of a heart attack on March 27 in General Division, CAMC. He was a native of Circleville and was a millwright with Union Carbide which later became Rhone-Poulenc Institute. He was the son of the late Boyd and Kate Johnston. He was a member of IAM Union and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He attended Morris Harvey College and was a member of Parsons Chapel Advent Church, Charleston, where he was a former assistant Sunday School superintendent and teacher.

Surviving are his wife, Bobbie S. Johnston; two daughters, Susan L. Johnston of New York City and Pamela J. Johnston of Charleston; two sisters, Norma Colaw of Cherry Grove and June Hinkle of North Huntington, PA; and two brothers, Woodrow Johnston of Franklin and Guy Johnston of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie M. Johnston and Mary Baber.

Services were held March 29 at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial was in the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
